[Interview] Now Tisanart คนดังนั่งคุย

The bang doesn’t stop, the rating keeps going up. It was worth the wait for actress Now Tisanart from the TV drama “Wong Wien Huajai” who reunites with charming actor Porshe Saran once again on CH7HD. Spreading sweetness across the screen with arguing and the slapping and then kissing making the audience go crazy over and over again. Kon Dung Nung Kui sat down with the actress to talk about work and also her relationship with fellow actor New Wongsakorn, going into their eighth year together.

The feedback to Wong Wien Huajai and working with Porshe Saran again.

“I have to say the feedback is really good. I believe everyone has been waiting to watch it because P’Porshe and I haven’t worked together in awhile and so there’s anticipation. Once the lakorn aired, the feedbacks I got in return were great. I really have to thank the fans for it. This story is different than our previous work together from Sai Lohit. That lakorn has alot of sweet moments because there was a difference in the matter of our role age. There’s not much skinship but in Wong Wien Huajai, it’s different. We’ll argue and then we’ll kiss, something along those lines. I think the fans will like it. Working with P’Porshe is comfortable because we’ve worked together before. He’s a fun and friendly person. There isn’t any concern when we work together.”

This lakorn has quite some romantic scenes. How’s work in that area?

“Comfortable. I’ve talked to P’Porshe and the director about it because the script requires skinship and a lot of kissing. I would ask him if we can take a break from that and he agreed. And so the script becomes much cuter than before. Is it going to be a hit or a miss, a yes or no? Sometimes I feel like if something is often seen, the audience will get familiar with it and they won’t feel anything. It would be better to have the people anticipate what’s coming up next. Working with P’Porshe, he’s known to be a prankster. But with me, if he pranks me I will do it back to him (laughs). I know his agenda because I’ve known him for years. He even told me that I’m one of the actress that gets back at him. You can say we know each other’s pranks.”

The audience have mentioned when the lakorn first aired that it might be too dramatic.

“Yes, the beginning of the story there was a lot of drama and the plot will only thicken. Especially when I move into his vineyard, there’s going to be a lot of cute and fluffy scenes for sure. P’Porshe and I have reunited again. It’s different from what we played. In Sai Lohit, there was a popular phrase “mae khun kong pe” [my dearest one, my love, etc] and in Wong Wien Huajai, for sure it’s going to be “teerak” [honey, sweetheart, my love, babe, etc].

This year, you’ve been accepting more mature roles, this and Mae Bia.

“Actually ever since 2020 I’ve been accepting more mature roles. In the past I’ve acepted dramatic roles that seem to be prim and proper, a character that deosn’t fight people. With Mae Bia, it’s the most dramatic one I’ve done yet. It’s erotic too in which I’ve never played that genre before. But I have my limits, a framework when I do my job. I have to understand it first. For instance, expressing love by kissing, that I understand because it’s a normal thing in playing lakorns nowadays. People will see that actors do real kisses now and not use camera angles like back then.”

Most of your lakorns are remakes, do you feel pressured?

“Not at all because all the ones I did were remakes. Duangjai Kabot and Huajai Look Poochai were the only two that wasn’t a remake. But with Mae Bia, I admit that I do feel pressured because a lot of people are anticipating that one. I don’t feel pressured that it’s a remake but I feel pressured because I’ve never done this genre before. Everyone is waiting how it will turn out, how will the CG look like, the CG with the snake, Most importantly during the blessing ceremony when I was wearing that orange outfit and everyone was talking about it. The feedbacks were great. When it was first announced that I was going to be in Mae Bia, there were negative comments like I don’t suit it. I’ve kept those comments in my head but after the blessing ceremony, people thought I may actually pull it off. I’m very happy that the feedbacks turned out to be great.”

Has the pandemic affected work?

“Definitely. As anyone should already know when it comes to filming lakorns, we can’t wear our masks once we start filming so the preparation on set is very important. Like right now all the staff on set are wearing their masks. We take our temperature three times a day, morning, afternoon, and evening. We don’t sit together when we eat, wash our hands often. Location might be an obstacle for work. For instance in Wong Wien Huajai, we have to film a lot in the province. Staff are limited on set so sometimes we had to change the location.”

You can say work is going great for you. What about your love life? When are you getting married?

“I really don’t know. I’ve never thought about it.” Perhaps P’New has thought about it. “Of course. But that was a while back. We discussed it. I told him I’m not ready in this step. So I view this matter as something not important yet. Let’s wait until I’m bored of the show biz, bored of filming lakorns then we can discuss this topic. I’m really having fun with work right now.” Are you scared? The busy you are, the more your age moves forward. “I know but it doesn’t affect our feelings. I feel like it’s still considered good that even though we’re getting older but we’re still together. So I don’t think much of it.”

Do you still Facetime him til morning?

“Yes (laughs). It’s been eight years. The ipad is going to be broken soon. I’ve been using that the first year til now. I need to get a sponsor deal (laughs).”

Because you do everything that you’re used to it now, is that why you don’t think about marriage?

“I’m someone who never thought about marriage in the first place. Since I was younger. But if you ask me do I feel like getting married when I see my friends have cute weddings, yes I do. But it’s indistinct for me.”

Women dream of wearing a wedding dress. Does wearing a wedding dress in lakorns so often have anything to do with your opinion?

“No but it is true that I wear wedding dresses often in my lakorns, even wedding photoshoots. I’m used to wearing it already. So I thought if in the future I will get married, I’ll just sign the marriage certificate, tell our families and that’s it. I don’t need a big ceremony because I don’t like going up on stage and talking a lot. I’m shy (laughs).”

Hold up Now. You’ve worked in this industry for years and you should get used to it already.

“(laughs) It’s true. I am shy. It’s not the same as in work. That’s acting. There’s a script for you to say things. I’m not really good at expressing myself. I don’t get scared. It doesn’t come out smoothly.”

When it comes to it, P’New will speak on your behalf.

“(laughs) Yes. He should be the one to do all the talking.”

Do you not sympathize with him? He’s about to hit 40.

“We talk it over. I ask him, “Pe, you still don’t want to get married right?” (laughs)”.

Would he even dare to respond if you ask him like that?

“I’m a straightforward person. When I ask questions, it’ll be straightforward. Like my feelings of not wanting to get married yet and I’m honest with him about that. I go “I don’t want to get married yet. You feel the same right?” And he goes, “Yeah yeah, I’ll wait until you’re ready.” He wants to open a business too right now so we’re both not ready.”

You overcame the cursed seven years and you’re walking into the eighth year.

“Yes but whether it’s 7, 8, 3, 5 doesn’t really mean anything to me. It’s more of taking care of each other continuously.”

Then why do you think you and New have reached your eight years together?

“I think if I dated someone who is around the same age as me, we wouldn’t last this long. But with P’New, he has maturity. When we first started dating, I was stilll in college. I acted immature, there was sulking. But he would reason with me until I understood. He’s been consistent with me ever since.”

But seriously, you never pictured of having a family?

“I’ll be honest. I never thought of having children. These days, there’s a lot of things to be concern about. If I were to have a kid right now, I would be concern about covid, the environment with the dust and pollution, which I feel isn’t safe. It’s different from my era when I was born and raised in the era where things were changing. There was internet. We’d listen to songs on cassettes, on CDs. Kids these days they don’t know those stuff. We grew up in the overlapping period, allowing us to learn about different cultures. If in the future I do have kids, I’m scared of how he/she will become raising them. I want them to be like me. If I do have one, I want them to grow up to be like me and my mom.”

Do the parents from both sides understand your standpoint?

“They do because what P’New does right now is being like our family already. Sometimes when he has free time, he’d come over and hang out with me. My parents would see us together like this everyday. They don’t feel like we’re so distant from them. They know what we’re doing. For instance if he takes me out to eat, he would take a photo and send it to my mom letting her know that I’m with him dining out or if we step out of the house, he informs my mom. Therefore, my parents don’t discuss this matter with me. As for P’New’s family, I’m sure they’re waiting for the both of us to be ready, financially ready and be stable with our careers.”

You plan to open a business together right?

“Yes. I want to open a restaurant cafe. If I were to open a business, I would want to do it with P’New. We’ve discussed it already but we had to pause it due to covid. So we’re just saving up right now.”

What about work in the show biz?

“I’ll keep working because I still like going to sets meeting other cast members and staffs. If you ask is it tiring? Yes it is but I’m happy to wake up in the mroning and head to set meeting and working with everyone.”

Thanks for translating. Now is such a cutie. I’m so in love with her. I wish all the best in everything. I’m sure she will be a wonderful mom in the future and I hope to see mini Now in the future too. Now is very beautiful both inside and out. I’m happy to be her fan. I wish to see her in many more lakorns. But I don’t know if I will be able to watch her in Mae Bia. That type of genre is too much for me.
