I almost forgot to write my thoughts on this one, lol. April has been such a busy month for me so far. Aside from subbing lakorns, I’m also taking online courses to further my knowledge of caregiving. For those that dont know already, I am my dad’s caregiver and have been for a few years now. They’re paying me to take these courses so if I can spend a few hours every day doing these courses for easy money then why not right? 😆

Anyway, back to Nai Roy Srai. When it was announced, Thisa and Mike were going to be in this lakorn, I was excited because they hadn’t worked together before. They have chemistry. He has chemistry with Sky, too. So that was a ✔️ off the list. Second was the production. Markgwafun usually produce evening lakorns, so NRS was their first prime time. The only lakorn I watched of theirs in the past was Pakboong Gup Koongnang with Kat Sonya & BigM Krittarit 😅. In terms of production goes, I think they did pretty decent with the whole technicality on the twin part. They did well for Pakboong and Koongnang, too. Editing in general…😐 like they did pretty good up until towards the end. I don’t know if you guys noticed it but the editing was so choppy. Like they were given 34 episode,  but they cut out quite a lot of scenes to fit everything in. I know I complained about this before, but I don’t know why every editing team gives air time to nonsensical scenes but cut out scenes that aresomewhatt crucial to the storyline 🙄. For instance, there was a scene when Patchara supposedly took the twins’ mom hostage but the next scene shows she was rescued already? Somehow during that “big” Patchara take down, their boss director was nowhere to be found? Like I know probably due to scheduling conflict, but still I just find it’s not as smooth as it should be. To other people, he’s probably just a side character but in my opinion, he played a big part. He was the reason Tiwa and Tawan switched in the first place! So to have him be absent during the final mission was just odd lol.

Another thing that bothered me about this lakorn was the relationship revolving the four main characters. First of all, I just find it so weird how one would break up with someone they’ve dated for quite a long time, engaged to be exact and then breaks off with that person to go be with the other twin brother 💀 I know shit like this happens in real life especially falling in and out of love with someone despite dating for so long. Unfortunately, it’s something us humans do but I personally can’t bring myself to date my ex’s twin brother 😂 even if the break up was mutual and you’re in good terms with your ex. But that’s just weird af for me. I lowkey wanted Wimala to stay single in the end 😂. The other thing I didn’t quite like was Tiwa’s character. In the beginning, I was still rooting for him and Wi to be together but after the switch, I was like eh…It’s not because he unintentionally cheated on Wi or fell in love with another woman, but it’s the way he wasn’t considerate of Wi during the whole switch mission. I know the mission and the switch was supposed to be top secret or whatever. He couldn’t tell anyone blah blah. It wasn’t like Wi was his girlfriend for a few months. They dated for eight years. She was his freaken fiancee! The moment he started hanging out with Grace more and became more attentive towards Grace, I got so pissed because he couldn’t even do small things like that for Wi. He gave more time for Grace than he did to Wi. That really made me roll my eyes. The moment he became Tawan, it’s like he disregarded her out of his mind and everything. Those that watch will probably understand what I’m talking about. And this whole switch thing really pissed me off too. Innocent people were involved and this mission literally pushed Wi to cheat on Tiwa as well 😤 I felt bad for Wi and Tawan in the beginning. Grace was innocent in this too but I’m not gonna lie, I was rolling my eyes every time her scenes with Tiwa came up lmao! I couldn’t bring myself to cheer them and I couldn’t bring myself to cheer Wimala and Tawan either because of their original status 🤷‍♀️ The thing that I find weird was that Mike as Tiwa had no chemistry with Thisa who played Wimala but when he’s Tawan and he has scenes with Wi, he had chemistry. Tiwa had better chemistry with Grace though. I guess you can say Mike did a good job at diffrentiating Tiwa and Tawan? LOL.

The side characters particulary the villains in here, to me, served no damn purpose. Okay Patchara was the main villain. The way the story was built up for his character was like he was untouchable. That dude died so quick in the end. His whole purpose was to get revenge on his deceased sister which by the way was a whole misunderstanding from the parents’ story. (Not gonna get into it.) *Cue rolling my eyeballs* Then there was Papaeng, Tawan’s ex-girlfriend who really got on my damn nerves and I felt her character was not needed. The actress who played the character is a good actress and I felt her talented was wasted on such a stupid ass nonsensical character! I know she was there to cause Grace problems but it was so annoying and childish I might add. The whole Grace ordeal with her and her dad was just off for me. It’s hard to explain because out of the blue her dad got sick without explaining a back story for us.  In the beginning we all saw he seemed perfectly fine but when Papaeng entered the picture, he got sick and then next scene he was critically ill in hospital? I want to blame the editing team for that because I felt pieces were missing from that side plot. I just stopped caring for that trope and anything involving Papaeng tbh lol. Lawan who Patchara killed, I thought initially she would play a bigger role somewhere or serve more purpose but she didn’t. They didn’t provide us much background on her besides growing up in the orphanage with Patchara. I don’t know. As I’m writing, it’s bringing me back to those frustrations again lol. It was just out of place and choppy. Let’s just leave it at that!

Um…what else? All in all, I think this lakorn could have been better if the editing was better. The storyline can suck as long as the editing was decent. In this case it was almost decent. Like I mentioned before, Mike did a pretty good job with playing twins here. Even when he was playing Tawan, you can tell that it was Tiwa pretending to be Tawan. Does that make sense? It was nice seeing Thisa play an attorney but the way they dressed her in here and her hairstyle wasn’t it for me. Sometimes I felt she looked so mediocre compared to Sky. As a fan of Thisa, I don’t mind if her and Mike were to pair up again. Hopefully storyline would be better. And I hope if Thisa is ever in a twin lakorn again, it’ll be her that will play twins and not her leading actor. I still don’t like Sky’s acting 😅. Has she improved from the first lakorn? Yes but…she needs to work on her anger face and her crying scenes. Hopefully it will get better in that one lakorn with Louis 🤞 Anyway if you have read til here, thank you. If you watched this lakorn, I would love to read your feedback as well! See you in my next review soon!
